We have 78 million boomers and 36 million retirees that will climb to 71 million in just 20 years.

YOU are who the government is going to tax to pay for them. I could lose my Social Security payment and it wouldn’t kill me. I have saved and prepared for this for decades because we knew it was coming.
But, the entire nation, people of all ages are going to suffer because of over 1/3 of its population either being in retirement or getting close to it. Our government is doing all the wrong things that will make it harder for young people to get by. If they don’t stop the dollar’s fall, all those people you don’t care about will vote to have your taxes increased to take care of them. Politicians don’t care about you. They want votes and when over 1/3 of the population and a much higher ratio when it is just adult voters is concerned you better worry.
The elite that have bankrupted this nation don’t care about you, just their power and power comes from votes. We have been warned for decades of this crisis with retirees and yet, government did nothing to solve the problem. Instead they have made it worse.
The entitlement crisis is going to hammer every worker in America and nothing is being done to solve it. This isn’t a question about taking care of the seniors as much as destroying the ability of people younger to survive in this uncompetitive nation in the global economy.
This also has to do with all the boomers still in the work force that will draw from the government eventually. This also has to do with the rising cost of medical care under any national plan as we go from 36 million retirees who use more medical services, to 71 million and a government that will want you to pay for it.
The plight of senior citizens is your plight. Government is going to jack your taxes to the roof to pay for them and their drain on tax revenues.
You will not be able to take care of your parents. When bread is $100 a loaf, you won’t even be able to take care of yourself if you just depend on income from a job or don’t have investments that protect against inflation’s impact on CPI.
