The mortgage servicers should simply pay the “homeowners” who cannot afford their mortgage payments a modest fee (a couple of thousand - less than the cost of foreclosure) to move out and deed back the homes they will NEVER pay for (don’t kid yourself - loan modifications are simply “leasing with the option to destroy”).
