SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Microsoft Corp. is getting ready to play hardball
in its bid for Yahoo Inc., according to news reports Tuesday.
Microsoft (MSFT) will not raise its offer for Yahoo Inc. (YHOO), and intends to
launch a proxy campaign in a bid to gain control of the Internet powerhouse, news
reports from the New York Times and the Associated Press said.
A proxy campaign would raise the stakes in Microsoft’s blockbuster bid to gobble
up Yahoo, and potentially trigger a protracted corporate battle.
