Las Vegas casinos unlikely to survive in this downturn
Las Vegas used to be a bargain and fun to boot.
I stopped going to Las Vegas, plane ticket 250.00, the rooms are $200.00, the shows are $200.00, breakfast is $50.00, breathing is $50.00.

The streets have been reconfigured so you can’t really walk anywhere and that really takes the fun out of the strip plus adds cab fares: Cab $50.00
It has become a nickle and dime nightmare. People put up with it for the glitz when they are flush, but in a recession it is going to be a financial armageddon for these companies.
Want to gamble? Go on a cruise. For $100.00 a day you get gambling, free shows and all you can eat too. Goodbye Las Vegas.
p.s
Some people in Vegas saw this coming from a mile away. Yet Adelson, Kerkorian, Wynn, and others have been able to convince stockholders and bankers for one more infusion. I’m still amazed MGM has maintained its price lately, given its situation. Apparently they were rewarded for dropping some of their projects.

I agree that Vegas is going to be hit and hit hard. My parents went to vegas for years, and dreamed of going down there when they retired.
They took a few years off and then went again. They were forced to leave after 3 days (instead of the 1 week they normally stayed) bease the old style where people were fed cheap, housed cheap, and entertained cheap so they could gamble is gone - and gone for good.
My parents don’t go to vegas anymore….they did go on a cruise.
