GSA Reports 2007 Semiconductor Industry Revenue Totaled $267.5 B
2007 Fabless Revenue Totaled $53 Billion, a Seven Percent Increase from 2006
SAN JOSE, Calif., Apr 09, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) — The Global Semiconductor
Alliance (GSA) released the CYQ4 2007/year-end 2007 Global Semiconductor Fundings
and Financials Report. The quarterly report includes funding and financial data
for fabless, integrated device manufacturer (IDM), pure-play foundry,
intellectual property, electronic design automation, design service and back-end
sectors, as well as initial public offering and merger and acquisition data.
Included with the report is a downloadable spreadsheet with the company-specific
data used to compile the report.
Key findings include:
– Semiconductor revenue totaled $267.5 billion, with fabless and IDM revenue
accounting for 20 percent and 80 percent of the 2007 semiconductor sales total,
respectively
– 206 semiconductor companies (fabless, IDM and suppliers) raised $2.7 billion
in 2007
– The top 20 semiconductor companies by 2007 revenue accounted for $158.4
billion, or 58 percent of total semiconductor revenue:
