Another joke

TRANSCRIPT of my conversation with my Congressman’s local constituent office:

“Hello, Congressman Olver’s office.”

“Hey, I just want to let you know that if Rep. Olver or Senator Kerry or Senator Obama support this taxpayer financed bailout in ANY way, shape, or form, that I will be voting for The Green Party across the boards in November.”

“Could I have your name ?”

“Why? Trying to keep track of the disgruntled?”

“You could say that. Could I have your name?”

“Sure My name is _____________”

“Could I have your address?”

“My address is ___________”

“Ok then, thanks for calling.”

“Hold on. I’m not done yet lady.”

“Ok. What else do you want Rep. Olver to know ?”

“Well do you know anything about 20th Century History ?”

“Oh yes. I was a History Major in College.”

“Ok. Well do you know anything about May 1968 in Paris France ?”

“No. I can’t say that I do.”

“What ? You have to be kidding me.”

“Well it was a little before my time Sir.”

“I thought you said that you were a History major. Isn’t all History ” a little before your time?”

“What’s your point Sir. I am not going to argue with you”

“Well you are not intellectually equipped to argue with me,
but that is besides the point. You can tell Rep. Olver that if Congress passes and if Bush signs this Wall Street Bailout into law, that there will be open revolt in the streets of America like Paris France 1968.”

“Don’t you think that’s a little extreme?”

“You mean citizens dissenting against their government openly ?”

“Ummmm. I don’t know. Maybe.”

“Ok one last message for Rep. Olver. Tell him to stop hiring idiots to answer his telephone. Have a great weekend History Major.”
